Lindsey Stakoe Neumann

Owner, Enrichment Director, Choreographer, Costumer, Camp Director

Lindsey is originally from West Bloomfield, MI and graduated from Michigan State University where she received her degree in Theatre with a specialization in Acting and Dance. During that time she also attended The Michael Howard Conservatory in NYC for acting and attended classes regularly at Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway for her dance training. In 2003 she studied Theatre and Shakespeare in London, England at the College of London. Lindsey started her teaching at Interlochen Center for the Arts. She was the assistant director and choreographer for the main stage productions at Interlochen and continued to teach there when she moved to CA in 2003.

Since moving to CA she has performed professionally around the country. She is a true teaching artist, you can find her currently performing in, “A Faery Hunt”, LA’s #1 Children’s Show, “The Satin Dollz”, a 1940’s Cabaret Group, “Murder Madness”, a comedy murder mystery and “The Omelettes” an Improv Comedy Troupe. Some of her favorite roles include Old Woman from “The Chairs”, Catherine from “Proof” and Panacea from “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”.

While in Los Angeles she has choreographed for numerous productions including; “The Sound of Music” at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre, “Rheeta in Space” at the Alliance Theatre with the Hollywood Fringe Festival, “The Satin Dollz” touring company, “August G” at Theatre 0101 as well as the web series, “The Cabonauts” and “Goodnight Burbank.” She is also the choreographer and dance reference for Disney Jr’s Vamperina and Doc McStuffins.

Teaching theatre is where she can share her love and joy for the theatre with her students. While in Los Angeles she has choreographed and directed over 25 productions. She has lead the Musical Theatre programs at The Musa Academy, Penny Lane Dance Academy and Adderly School for the Arts. She has taught afterschool musical theatre enrichment classes with Performing Arts Workshops and Rolling Hills Methodist. She has taught dance at The School of Music and Dance, Penny Lane Dance Academy, The Dance Factory, Sherman Oaks Elementary and CA Dance Arts . She has choreographed and assistant directed for Sunset Theatre Company’s production of “Into the Woods”,”Damn Yankees”, “Oklahoma”, “Annie”, “HAIRSPRAY” and “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”, “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, “Once On This Island”, “The Addams Family”,  “The Drowsy Chaperone”, “Spamalot”, “Legally Blonde”, “Guys and Dolls” and “Urinetown”. Lindsey has received 5 nominations for best choreography with the National Youth Arts Awards.

Since 2011 Lindsey has led the Enrichment and Camp departments at Sunset Theatre Company. She was responsible for getting classes at the school districts in MI as well as numerous school districts in Los Angeles. It is a dream come true to be working with her husband in the theatre arts and looks forward to what they can bring to arts education in the United States.
